Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is a flowering plant whose rhizome, ginger root or ginger, is widely used as a spice originated in Island Southeast Asia. It is one of the first spices exported to Europe. Plant contains moderate amounts of vitamin B6, minerals, magnesium and manganese.
